Experience in running a successful small business
A and B Antiques is run by two men with many years of experience in the upholstery trade. Alan and Brian know what it takes to run a successful small business. This established upholstery and framing service is well known and highly regarded across Halifax and West Yorkshire.
Alan Watson has over 45 years of expertise in the upholstery business having first served his apprenticeship with K.M. Lents of Halifax back in 1965. From 1970, Alan worked with a number of companies including Bridgecraft, Apple Furnishings, Highlight Furnishing, Sandplan and Rangebank Upholstery while he honed his wide range of skills. In 1980 Alan decided to work on a self-employed basis taking on contract work. During this time he worked for the likes of the Sheridan Hotel, London, the Churchill Hotel, London and P&O Ferries as well as the refurbishment of the Crown Imperial Hotel, Halifax. In the 1990s Alan opened his own shop specialising in upholstery, deep button leathe, antique restoration plus polishing and wood restoration. From here Alan formed A and B Antiques with Brian.
Brian Iredale has been self-employed for over 40 years and brings essential skills and experience to the company. He is a qualified framer, and we can guarantee that in addition to very competitive quote and an exemplary level of service, you will receive a laugh and a joke thrown in for free.
